Where should we go on vacation?

My husband and I are looking for someplace not too far from home to take a small vacation. We don't want to spend a lot of money and we don't want to travel too far from home. We just want something fun that we can enjoy together. Possibly something that involves being outdoors for some of the trip. We live in upstate NY and this time of year is really really pretty! Anyone have any suggestions? We live about an hour from Binghamton if that helps... :-)
