Computer help needed?

My computer use to be able to play audio without opening wmp. all i had to do was click a song in a folder and a sidebar would open and i could play it from there. but i got my computer fixed (rid of viruses and such) and now it doesnt do that anymore. I wanted to kno if anybody kne how 2 help me get that back.
