Transmission issue! please help! Ayuda!?

My honda accord '98 (automatic), was running beautifully until it randomly started grinding while i was driving it. I towed it home which was like 10 miles away. then the car started running again for about 20 feet before it stopped again, it hasnt moved after that.The car is extremely loud now, worst than before. Im a young lady, so i dont know much about this lol.. Does it seem like its all broken or can it be a sensor problem? nobody seems to want to help me. They ALL SAY MY TRANSMISSION DIED but none of them are professional . Its sad cause i think im going to lose what i paid for it. its a 4 cyl. the engine turns on good. i hit the gas but nothing. the oil in the transmission is good. so basically the engine turns, if i try to drive it (which it doesnt) it sounds like its gonna blow up, and the meter just goes up without doing anything. i thought that when a fails, it doesnt make any noise.. but i dont know anything.
